Legalisation
If the document is from a country which is not party to the Apostille Convention, then an authentication procedure should be followed. Legalisation is the finding that a document has been issued by a competent authority or person and that the signature on the document really is the signatory’s signature.
The website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs contains useful information on the different possibilities. See: Legalising documents.
Information is available on the following:
- The legalisation of treaties;
- The legalisation of Dutch documents;
- The legalisation of foreign documents;
- The legalisation of diplomas for use abroad;
- Notarial deeds abroad.
